Frequently asked questions

Why would I want to delete clips on Twitch?

Twitch is the leading video game streaming platform in the world, allowing its users to create content in which they play and narrate games, and for other users to watch these streams. More recently Twitch has branched into eSports, music streaming, and even "in-real-life" streaming.

As a creator, you can create clips of your streams to be broadcast and hosted on your individual creator channel, for your followers to watch over and over again, regardless of whether they caught the original live stream or not. Additionally, your followers can actually also create clips of your streams, which will similarly be saved to and shared on your channel.

As such, it probably will come as no surprise to you that there may well be some content you'd like to delete. Whether it's simply old, outdated content which no longer reflects the theme or direction of your channel; whether it's embarrassing content which you or a follower has clipped; or whether it's downright offensive content that someone's clipped from your channel and you wish to delete.

Whatever your reason, learning how to quickly and effectively delta clips on Twitch is a fundamental piece of Twitch user knowledge, and luckily for you, we're here to impart it. Simply follow our step-by-step guides above to learn how.

What happens when I delete clips on Twitch?

When you delete clips on Twitch, they are permanently deleted and removed from your profile and channel. Neither you nor your followers will be able to view or access them in any way, and any followers who saved or liked the clip will now not have it appear in their saved or liked clips.

Can I recover accidentally deleted clips on Twitch?

No, unfortunately not. This is why you've got to be absolutely sure you want to delete any given clip before you press that little bin icon. Once a clip is deleted, it's gone for good!

What kind of clips can I delete on Twitch?

You can delete any clips pertaining to your channel, and which are found in the 'Clips' section of the Creator Studio. In other words, you can only delete clips that you or your followers have made from live streams made on your channel. You cannot delete clips from other people's channels, nor clips that you have made of other channels you follow.
